Ed Sobol is a General Partner in the Healthcare Group and a member of WCAS’s Management Committee, having joined WCAS in 2010. Ed primarily focuses on investments in the healthcare technology subsector and has invested across a range of other subsectors, including healthcare delivery, medical technology, payor services, and financial technology. He serves on the Boards of Directors of AssistRx, EnableComp, ImageTrend, Norstella and Owl Practice. Ed was previously involved in current and former WCAS investments in InnovAge, Emerus, Kindred Healthcare, Kindred at Home, K2M, USPI, and Triple Point. Prior to joining WCAS, he was an investor at Bain Capital Private Equity, beginning in 2003. Earlier in his career, he was a consultant at McKinsey & Company.
Ed holds a B.A. from Stanford and an M.B.A from Harvard Business School. In the community, Ed is part of City Year New York’s Investment Community Board, which supports students and schools in lower-income neighborhoods of New York City. Ed lives with his wife and three children in Rye, New York. When he isn’t working, he enjoys playing tennis, cheering his kids on from the sidelines and traveling to new places.
