Mark Almeida is an Operating Partner in the Technology Group at WCAS. He assists with identifying and evaluating investment opportunities, drawing on his four decades of experience as an executive in the financial information business.
He was previously the founding president of Moody’s Analytics, where he established a leading enterprise that solves critical business problems for financial institutions worldwide. Built around an innovative portfolio of specialized data products and advanced analytical tools sold by subscription, the company reached an annual revenue of $2 billion during his tenure.
Mark pursues excellence through an intense focus on customers and employees. He is passionate about uncovering creative solutions to industry-wide challenges and has collaborated extensively with analytical practitioners and front-line executives to develop tools that industrialize best practices, enhancing the efficiency of organizations engaged in financial risk management. A longtime resident of New York City, Mark lives with his wife in a 19th-century brownstone in Brooklyn. In addition to working at WCAS, he serves as an Advisor to Nyca Partners, a venture capital firm specializing in fintech investments. On behalf of Nyca, he is a Board Director at Tractiv, Inc. and a member of the Advisory Board of Blooma, Inc. In addition, Mark is also on the Board of Directors of Cognaize.
