Dr. Adaeze Enekwechi is an Operating Partner on the Healthcare team, having joined WCAS in 2021. Dr. Enekwechi focuses on a policy and regulatory environment that can have an outsize impact on healthcare investments. She is trained in healthcare policy, economics, and outcomes research. She was the President of IMPAQ, LLC, a company that provided research, technical assistance, and advanced analytics services for government clients which she took through its acquisition in 2020. She also served as a Managing Director at Optum, leading several large Medicare and state Medicaid projects. In addition to her private sector experience, she spent many years in federal policy roles at the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC) and as the head of Health Programs at the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) under President Obama. There she led policy, management and regulatory oversight for over $1 trillion in spending across all federal health agencies and programs. Dr. Enekwechi is the CEO of Cayaba Care and serves on the Board of Directors at MedStar Health, Public Health Institute, Alliance for Health Policy and Tia.
Adaeze received her BA and PhD from the University of Iowa. She also received her MPP from the American University in Washington, DC. Her postdoctoral studies were completed at the University of Chicago.
Adaeze enjoys nature walks and you can usually find her on a trail somewhere in the DC area. She enjoys a good cup of coffee, Peloton, as much leisure reading as possible, politics, and her family and friends. She lives in the DC area with her family.
