Christopher Hooper is a General Partner and a member of WCAS’s Management Committee, which partners with high-quality management teams to grow industry-leading technology platforms. Chris originally joined WCAS in 2005 as an Associate in the firm’s New York City office and rejoined in 2017 as a General Partner to establish the firm’s San Francisco office. He serves on the Boards of Directors of Clearwater, Green Street and LINQ and previously helped lead investments in Avetta, GlobalCollect, Quickbase and TransFirst, among others. In between his time at WCAS, he helped lead the Software & Services group at Golden Gate Capital. He previously worked at Lazard in New York City and graduated from Colgate University with a B.A. in Economics.
Together with his wife, two children and a dog, he resides in Tiburon, California. Chris serves on the Bay Area Board of Summer Search, a national youth development organization serving students through a combination of mentoring and transformative experiences to strengthen skills and mindsets needed to thrive in school, work and life. Chris also helps mentor entrepreneurs through Colgate University’s “Thought Into Action” program.
